The LeFrak Organization built the beautiful live, work, play community in Jersey City known as Newport. Pier Head performed a complete facelift in the Lobby and extensive back corridors of the building known as NOC III – 1 of 8 office towers in the complex which sustained significant damage after Hurricane Sandy. This renovation included the high end custom finishes required by their high profile tenants within these 14-stories in Newport, including Cigna, Fidelity, and Forbes, each occupying multiple floors. Front lobby work included complete demolition of stone floors and walls, and replacement with floor to ceiling height custom wood panels, sequenced and end-matched, an entirely new custom reception station including security turnstile removals and replacement, new reception desk with wood panelling and stone counter surfaces, custom steel details in floor and walls, decorative glass and steel wall panels in elevator lobbies and above elevator banks, complete replacement of floor tiles throughout the extensive back corridors winding back to the light rail access. Work also included repair and replacement of multiple original existing marble wall slabs in the back corridor which were compromised in the hurricane. All work was done with minimal interruption of tenant access, even on evenings and weekends.
