Having learned her profession from the ground up, literally as well as metaphorically, she has carved out a unique position as a business leader in a field overwhelmingly dominated by her male counterparts.
She plays an active role in day-to-day operations, in both field and office administrative processes, with a focus on client relationships, business development and strategic objectives. Her clients have included many of New York’s best-known Owners, Developers, Medical and Educational Institutions, Industrial and Corporate Facilities, and the projects have involved some of the city’s most iconic buildings.
In recent years, Ms. Best has overseen a major expansion of the firm’s Exteriors Division, in both the commercial and residential sectors. Having assembled a team of experts in the many disciplines related to façade restoration, and all work related to the “building envelope”; she has made Pier Head a premier name in Local Law 11 repairs.
A lifetime New York-area resident, Ms. Best began her career in Manhattan at Two Bridges Associates, where, over the course of eight years, she acquired the knowledge and skills associated with job cost analysis and cost-accounting, contract terms and negotiations, materials sourcing and project coordination.
At Pier Head, serving as project executive for high-end residential, commercial and non-profit interior renovations, Ms. Best has forged long-term relationships with leading property owners and developers, property and asset managers, and other industry service providers, including many of the city’s finest subcontractors.
Ms. Best earned a bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University’s Douglass College. She has completed continuing professional education courses in fields that include OSHA safety regulations, sustainability, and construction management.
She is deeply devoted to community service and professional advancement organizations. Ms. Best serves on Boards and Chairs Committees of non-profit organizations dedicated to the advancement of Women in Construction and Real Estate and to providing Housing and Social Services to the homeless in New York City.
